Cal Ripken vs Little League

Cal Ripken vs Little League

The biggest difference between Cal Ripken and Little League is in the major division (11-12 age group), Cal Ripkenā€™s pitching distance is 50 feet and the bases are 70 feet apart (compared with 46 and 60 feet in Little League.)

Referred to as 50/70, this allows base runners to lead off, stealing is permitted and pitchers work out of the stretch with runners on base.
Cal Ripken implemented this at the 11-12 age group to help players transition to standard baseball fields 60/90 that feature a 60-foot pitching distance and 90-foot base paths.
Cal Ripken operates under the same rules as travel ball. If you would like your 11-12 year old to learn Baseball like it is truly intended to be played the choice is clear.

SC Bulldogs in the community

The team members of the SC Bulldogs recently participated in Wreaths Across America. Thank you to all who participated (SC Bulldog players, siblings, and parents) despite the rain and ice. It’s a great way for us to REMEMBER that many gave some…while some gave everything. Today, we MADE time to remember those who helped ensure we have the very freedoms we do! Carpe Diem! Go SC Bulldogs! Please check out some of the pictures in our Team Gallery.

I’m extremely excited to share that the SC Bulldog family is continuing to grow. We have just added a SECOND NEW team (9u). We are also working to find the right person to coach a 10u team; if you know someone please contact Steve Duncan. We are adding another tryout date for all of our teams. We now have 8u, 9u, and 11u teams.
If you know of an 8, 9 or 11 year old looking for a team, please pass the flyer along to them. There are limited spots open on either team.
SC Bulldogs 11U baseball is about more than JUST baseball. The easy part is learning how to hit, field, and throw. The challenge THIS team addresses is how to use these opportunities to teach our players about LIFE. Teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, hard work, appreciation, communication and respect are just a few of the life skills we instill to become, NOT just better baseball players, but better people. Plus, we have awesome looking uniforms.
